Zack Snyder turned to the last man to bring the caped crusader to life, Christopher Nolan, for his permission Before the decision was made to add a new Batman to Warner Bros' DC cinematic universe, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Snyder told Empire that he told the Dark Knight and Interstellar director "you tell me if you don't want me to do it."
