Comedian Chris Rock will confront the controversy over lack of diversity at the Oscars as the award show's host. Oscars producer Reginald Hudlin says the ceremony on February 28th, will begin with Rock calling out the Academy for nominating all white actors for the second straight year. Hudlin says the Academy will welcome Rock's jokes about the Oscars whiteout in his opening monologue. Rock previously joked about the Oscars' lack of diversity on his Twitter account, calling the award show "The White BET Awards." The Oscars boycott by Will Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith and Spike Lee motivated Rock to rewrite his monologue.
