VIDEO : Why is it So Hard to Get Tickets to Adele's Shows?

Celebrity in this news:

Getting tickets to one of Adele's show is never easy, and once you get them the temptation of selling them for a higher price than you bought them is big. .

21-Year-old Marisa Boyette is one of the lucky few Adele fans to emerge from the mad rush of December 17, when tickets to the singer's upcoming tour went on sale. After nervously staring at her computer as it waited in line on Ticketmaster.com, she jumped at the chance to grab a pair of the cheapest available at $150 each.

Many fans never had the chance, walking away empty handed. That disappointment turned to frustration when tickets immediately began to pop up on other websites at many times the original price. The ticket industry is a far different place than even a few years ago. Tickets are paperless. Box offices are nearing obsolescence. Secondary markets once relegated to dark alleys are now billion-dollar businesses working in conjunction with venues, artists and professional sports teams. Users can now find events on their smartphones and buy tickets in a matter of minutes without having to worry about fakes. Technology has changed everything.

There's no way around it: the reason you can't get Adele tickets is that your timing is not as good ? and your reflexes not as fast ? as the vast networks of computers set up by scalpers and resellers.

When asked about those stats, Ticketmaster was unable to provide an update but said that the Adele ticket sales received a massive amount of demand from fans and scalpers.
