David Bowie's final album hit number one in his adopted home of the United States on Sunday. It was a feat he never managed in life. 'Blackstar' was released two days before Bowie's death on January 10th. The album debuted at number one on the Billboard album chart for the week through to Thursday. Amid the outpouring of mourning after his death from cancer, Bowie not only scored his first US number one album, but also became a rare artist to have two albums in the top five. His greatest hits collection 'Best of Bowie' was released in 2002, and hit number four.
