After a short struggle with cancer, actor Alan Rickman has died.
The venerable actor known well for his role in the Harry Potter films was 69-years-old.
According to his representatives at Independent Talent Group, Rickman passed on Thursday.
Daniel Radcliffe, who played Harry Potter in the films, paid his respects to his late colleague citing him as the greatest actor he has worked with.
A smooth-voiced London native, Rickman worked on stage with the Royal Shakespeare Company and in UK television projects before earning his first film role.
