In the now-sadly-complete annals of David Bowie weirdness, there's nothing so weird as a Bowie album that, weirdly, isn't very weird at all. Such is the case with the self-titled David Bowie (1967). Released two years before the singer made it big with Space Oddity, it hit record stores at the height of the hippie era, on exactly the same day as Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band.
