A concert in honor of David Bowie's life and music will be held at Carnegie Hall in New York City on March 31, 2016. "While the series has featured surprise appearances and performances of honorees several times in the past, this year's concert will certainly be remembered as a poignant celebration of his music by his friends, peers and fans," a statement on the organization's website reads. "We are all deeply saddened by this news." The "Music Of" series is an annual project created by Michael Dorf, the founder of City Winery and The Knitting Factory, in order to raise funds for music education programs.
