George Miller?s Mad Max: Fury Road was a surprise hit of 2015 and a critical darling to boot, leading the iconic director to pen not one but two sequel scripts to the film. With film productions being notoriously long and the wait between installments sometimes longer, the big question becomes: Will Miller be able to make both films before he retires?
Miller isn't planning to retire anytime soon, of course. He told EW that he was already having conversations about the next Mad Max film, but that he wasn?t sure if it would be his very next film. Instead, he described his next film as being a totally different sort of movie:
?I?ve got something a bit smaller before we go back out into the wasteland ? something that?s contemporary that we can get through fairly quickly. And something with not too much technical difficulty. Something more performance-based and so on, just to clear the exhaust.?
