The new HBO's rock drama "Vinyl," which is slated to premiere in February, is like "Boardwalk Empire" in that the two hour premiere is pretty much a Scorcese film. Unlike "Boardwalk Empire," though, the Oscar-Award winning director plans to be more involved in this series. He said,"This is something that's very natural to me and very close to my heart." The series is a collaboration between himself, Rich Cohen, Mick Jagger and Terrence Winter. Jagger said it was a possibility that the idea would turn into a film but added "when TV series started coming online and becoming interesting, respectable and money making, we decided to make it a series."
