Star Wars fans have long been known to have a passion for preserving and defending the franchise. Even the vatican film critic who gave Star Wars: The Force Awakens a bad review received death threats from loyal Star Wars fans. So it's not much of a surprise that fans have started a petition to bring George Lucas back as the director of the scheduled Star Wars Episode IX. Now, this film already has a director: Colin Trevorrow who directed Jurassic World. While the petition clearly says that the fans have no issue with the highly successful Jurassic director, they say "he's just not the right guy to direct Star Wars: Episode IX." Lucas sold the Star Wars franchise to Disney, and they have assumed complete creative control over the franchise. The petition is currently at 467 signatures.
