Add an award from the Queen of England to the long list of achievements British actors David Oyelowo and Idris Elba have earned in their illustrious careers. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the recognition came as part of the queen?s annual list of honors that come out each new year. The award, familiarly known as an OBE, is officially known as the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire and includes recognition for contributions to the arts and sciences. In a statement, Elba said, "This award is beyond special as it comes from Queen and country, and I couldn?t be more proud for receiving this right now." Selma star Oyelowo also responded, saying, "To be honored by the Queen in this way having been aided by her son?s charity feels like a beautiful full-circle moment."
