Two years from now director James Cameron is looking to release the sequel to Avatar.
During an interview with the Montreal Gazette Cameron stated his target for the film's release will be Christmas 2017.
The first of three projected films released in 2009.
The director also revealed that pre-production for Avatar 2 is almost complete and that filming is set to begin soon.
He added that after two years the enormous task of design is about finished.
So far the creatures and landscapes, along with the stages and technical development are done.
And though the writing process has been ongoing, Cameron said it is almost finished as well.
He concluded they are poised to begin filming next year.
