VIDEO : Compulsive Spender Nicolas Cage Does The Right Thing With Dino Skull

Celebrity in this news:

Nicolas Cage agreed this week to return a stolen Tyrannosaurus Rex skull, which was taken illegally from Mongolia. The actor bought the prized artifact for $276,000 in 2007 from a Beverly Hills gallery, which issued a certificate of authenticity with Cage?s purchase. Investigators say the National Treasure star was contacted in 2014 about the skull?s potential origins, and that he voluntarily agreed to hand it over once the theft was confirmed. According to reports from the time, Cage even outbid Leonardo DiCaprio for the skull. Sources close to Cage reveal a person whose financial problems stemmed at least in part from his own profligate spending. In 2009, The Daily Beast wrote that Cage?s appetite was extreme even for Hollywood. A decade-plus shopping spree saw him snapping up houses, motorcycles, a jet, yachts, vintage and new cars, expensive watches, meteorites, dinosaur skulls, an enormous pet collection, massive amounts of jewelry for the women in his life, group vacations for his entire entourage, and so on.
