Actor James Franco is reportedly remaking cult favorite Mother, May I Sleep With Danger?, the 1996 TV movie starring Tori Spelling as a young woman named Laurel who slowly realizes that the boyfriend of her dreams is maybe, possibly, a murderer. While you might have caught the film in one of its many repeats on Lifetime, it actually originally aired on NBC. Franco's remake will be made specifically for the cable network and the movie's upcoming 20th anniversary, with Amber Coney writing and Melanie Aitkenhead directing. According to Vulture, Spelling will appear in the movie?but as the titular mother this time.
