It's only been a matter of hours since the news of who will be playing Harry, Hermione, and Ron in the upcoming Harry Potter and the Cursed Child play was revealed, and the announcement has already drummed up a huge amount of discussion on social media. According to Mashable, 45-year-old British actress Naomi Dumezweni has been cast as Hermione Granger. There has been some Twitter backlash for the casting of a black actor, but people have been quick to shut down anyone speaking negatively about the casting decision. Rowling tweeted "Brown eyes, frizzy hair, very clever. White skin was never specified. Rowling loves black Hermione." The auther then retweeted fan art featuring black Hermione.
