Airing on NBC, the family-friendly 'Coat of Many Colors" helped the network secure a third consecutive week at the top of the ratings.
The story which showcases Parton's childhood in poverty reached more than 13 million viewers, exceeding the live production of "The Wiz" which aired last month.
NBC also managed an average of 8.6 million viewers during primetime, topping second-place CBS by 600,000 viewers.
