The release of "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them," may be the movie franchise that will make Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne and Golden Globe winner Colin Farrell cinematic legends. The film takes its title from a fictional Hogwarts textbook penned by eccentric wizard and famous animal enthusiast Newt Scamander, and written for fans in 2001 by "Harry Potter" creator J.K. Rowling. The book is filled with the many magical beasts aforementioned in her acclaimed "Harry Potter" series and beyond. Rowling's screenwriting debut, the film takes place 70 years before Harry Potter's adventures at Hogwarts, zeroing in on Scamander (played by Redmayne) as he travels to the U.S. for a conference and accidentally releases a swarm of magic creatures into the unsuspecting world. To whet appetites until the film is released in November 2016, Rowling's play "The Cursed Child" premieres on London's West End in January 2016, and with the imminent opening of Universal Studios' Harry Potter amusement park in Los Angeles, visitors will see an expansion of the Harry Potter universe.
