Fox's Lee Daniels drama pilot has cast its male lead. The Hollywood Reporter confirms that Private Practice alum Benjamin Bratt is set to topline the music drama formerly known as Star. Written, created and directed by Empire's Daniels, the drama centers on three young women who form a girl group with hopes of making it big in the industry, and the choices they face along the way to success and stardom. Bratt will star as Jahil, a talent manager with taste, a hidden life and drive for redemption who believes his new client Star and her group are his ticket back to the top.
