Actress Jennifer Hudson plays one of the leading roles in director Spike Lee's latest film Chi-Raq; a movie that addresses many modern issues in America. One of those issues in particular is gun violence, which proved difficult for Hudson whom had earlier in her life experienced a gun-related tragedy firsthand. The subject matter was a little too close for comfort, as Hudson was given the role of a mother who loses a young daughter to gunfire. When asked about the role, Hudson claimed that she definitely met the offer with hesitance, but later concluded, "You know what? It's worth me telling my story so that hopefully no one else has a story like this to tell."
