ABC is diving into the TV movie musical. The network is taking on 1987 feature Dirty Dancing as a taped TV movie starring Abigal Breslin, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. The Three-hour event will be produced by Allison Shearmur Productions (The Hunger Games) and Eleanor Bergstein, who penned the screenplay for the original movie. Stephen Altman (Gosford Park) is set as producing designer. Fox, meanwhile, in January will debut Grease: Live and is prepping a tapped TV movie musical based on The Rocky Horror Picture Show with Laverne Cox set to star.
