Rolling Stone senior writer David Fricke paid tribute to rock legend Scott Weiland, who died on Thursday at age 48.
He says ""You can't sum up somebody like this Because, fact is, they weren't done." In a video interview, Fricke reflected on Weiland's resiliency ? through drug battles, harsh media criticism and personal demons. He also talked about the dynamic frontman's musical legacy playing for the Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver.
Fricke remembers his first encounter with the quartet who was suspicious, because of Fricke's critical Rolling Stones article. The writer says he now wishes he could take the Stone Temple Pilot insult back.
