Using the death of 9-year-old Tyshawn Lee as another example of the lack of gun control laws in the U.S., director Spike Lee aspires that his 2015 film ?Chi-Raq,? an adaption of the ancient Greek play ?Lysistrata? tackling Chicago?s gun violence, will help address these issues. Based on Aristophanes? play in which the titular character galvanizes women to stop the Peloponnesian War by going on a sex strike, Lee?s latest film places Lysistrata in the urban jungles of Chiraq as she tries coaxing rival gangs to lay down their weapons. The film?s title is inspired by street slang that parallels the South Side of ?Chicago? to the conflict zones of ?Iraq,? due to its extremely high crime rates. Teyonah Parris, Wesley Snipes and Nick Cannon star. "Chi-Raq" hits cinemas on Friday, Dec. 4, 2015.
