The Hollywood Reporter published an article in which they claim Universal Pictures supported Angelina Jolie's project "By The Sea" in hopes of coaxing Jolie to star in Bride of Frankenstein and the sequel to 2008's Wanted. Wanted grossed $340M at the worldwide box office. Jolie's character in "Wanted" died in the end and ever since Universal has made attempts to move forward with a sequel, but can't seem to pull the trigger on it without resurrecting Jolie's character.
