If you hated LeBron James before, it'll be hard to do so now with his touching gesture he made for a fan with a terminal illness. It all began with a story by Gregg Doyel of the Indianapolis Star where he introduced readers to Emanuel Duncan, a 19-year-old football coach at Lawrence Central High School in Indianapolis. Duncan is a beloved coach and member of the Lawrence football family, but has a disease called Duchenne muscular dystrophy, he likely won't live to see age 30. Duncan tells Doyel. ?That?s the one thing I want to do. Meet LeBron James. That?s my role model. He inspires me to do everything. To be a good person, to put other people first, to live your life and do what makes you happy."
James later told Doyel,
?I?m in a position that I owe with a lot of responsibility to give back to my fans and to be able to be a role model to them," James told him. "It?s something I take very, very seriously.?
