Mariah Carey to join the voice cast of The Lego Batman Movie.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the singer has signed up for the role of the mayor of Gotham City, in ?he spin-off/crossover film that was put into production following the surprise success of The Lego Movie in 2014.
Carey joins an extensive cast, including Ralph Fiennes (Alfred), Rosario Dawson (Batgirl), Michael Cera (Robin) and Zach Galifianakis (Joker). Will Arnett is to return as Batman.
Carey first screen appearance was as an opera singer in the Chris O?Donnell romcom The Bachelor in 1999, and is still most identified with the 2001 musical Glitter, in which she played an aspiring singer.
