James Franco?s band, Daddy, has signed a record deal with Kobalt.
The band, which also features multi-instrumentalist Tim O'Keefe , will release The Smiths-inspired album and film in 2016.
The album will feature The Smiths bassist Andy Rourke on every track and will be titled Let Me Get What I Want in reference to The Smiths' 1984 song Please, Please, Please, Let Me Get What I Want.
Franco has previously penned numerous poems influenced by The Smiths songs which will form the basis for the new music.
The movie will be created by each track's video being put together to form an hour-long art film.
