VIDEO : Taylor Swift Gets Sued For $42 Million Over 'Haters Gon Hate' Lyric

Celebrity in this news:

A singer named Jesse Graham is suing Taylor Swift over her ?Shake It Off? mega hit, claiming that Swift lifted lyrics from his 2013 track ?Haters Gone Hate.? After Graham?s requests to be named as a writer on Swift?s track and to take a selfie with Swift were rebuffed by her label, Big Machine Records, Graham took legal action and is now suing her for $42 million. Graham claims that there is ?no way? Swift wrote ?Shake It Off? without his phrase ?haters gonna hate,? telling the New York Daily News that ?at first I was going to let it go, but this song is my song all the way.? As many other publications have since pointed out, ?haters gonna hate? has been around much longer than 2013. Trio 3LW probably most famously used a lyrical variation (?haters, they gonna hate?) in their 2001 hit ?Playas Gon? Play.?
