It's been three years since the end of Ricky Gervais's seemingly unending reign as Golden Globes host, but these days, three years is enough time to greenlight a Hollywood revival. NBC has confirmed that Gervais will return to host the 2016 telecast.
Gervais first hosted the Golden Globes in 2010, when his dry, biting humor and mockery were not popular with all ? but it gave the awards a new vibe. Gervais never shied away from making fun of nominees and attendees, playing into his own claims that Globes are basically just a boozy party. He perpetuated the same humor in 2011 and 2012, with the jokes growing less subversive each time.
