They have called him the MVP of the entertainment industry and to one of the producers for the 88th Oscar Awards, he prepares before a gig like he's writing a Ph.D thesis.
Which is why Reginald Hudlin and David Hill felt Chris Rock deserved a return engagement after first hosting the awards ceremony in 2005.
Hill told the Hollywood Reporter, "he had so many on-the-money observations about the business, delivered in such an enlightened and entertaining way."
For Hill contacting Rock proved easier than expected as well, he has worked with Hudlin...they even know each other's mothers.
And that's how the producers for the next Oscars show secured Chris Rock, on Monday night over dinner at Hudlin's house.
Hill added, "it was lucky because of Reggie's relationship with Chris."
