VIDEO : Effie Brown Responds to Matt Damon's Diversity Remarks on 'Project Greenlight'

In HBO?s ?Project Greenlight? fourth season opener, which aired last month, producer Effie Brown brought up concerns about the lack of diversity in the directors they were considering for the project. Matt Damon, one of the executive producers on the show, interrupted her to say diversity should mainly be in the casting of talent but not in the casting of the show. This comment produced an initially shocked reaction from Brown and caused an uproar online when the show aired. Brown explained how she approached handling the response to her role on ?Project Greenlight.? ?I wanted people to be able to watch all four episodes, form their opinions and respond to it and then I could comment on all of it at once,? she said.
