The annual Met Gala is a big deal in every way possible. So, after the year that Taylor Swift has had, with her sold out 1989 Tour and her countless magazine covers, it comes to no surprise that the ?Wildest Dreams? singer will take centre stage at what is know as the Oscars of fashion. The Metropolitan Museum of Art announced on Tuesday that the new theme for next year?s Costume institute exhibition will be Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology. According to a report from Vogue, it ?will focus on the dichotomy between handmade haute couture and machine-made fashion.? The museum also announced the 2016 Met Gala will take place on Monday, May 2, and will be hosted by Swift, Idris Elba, Jonathan Ive, and Anna Wintour.
