Deepening her relationship with the network, Lena Dunham just sold a comedy pilot to HBO. Max, described as a 1960s-set comedy about a magazine writer who accidentally stumbles into the women's movement during second-wave feminism, will star actress Lisa Joyce as the titular Maxine. The Hollywood Reporter also has confirmed that Dunham will direct the pilot.
