VIDEO : Johnny Depp Doesn't Want An Oscar And Has An Interesting Reason Why

Celebrity in this news:

There may be Oscar buzz for Johnny Depp for his portrayal of Boston gangster James "Whitey" Bulger in Black Mass, but he's not particularly excited about it.

Depp commented "I don't want to win one of those things ever, you know."

The actor rationalized it by saying he didn't want to talk or give an acceptance speech and that he doesn't like the idea of awards as a whole. Depp explained "The idea of winning means that you're in competition with someone, and I'm not in competition with anybody. I just stick to my guns and do what I want to do. Sometimes people don't like it, but that's alright."
Depp has been nominated for Oscars for his performances in 2004's Finding Neverland, 2007's Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street and the initial Pirates of the Caribbean film, which was released in 2003.
