IFC Films has bought U.S. rights to Robert Budreau?s Chet Baker biopic ?Born to Be Blue,? starring Ethan Hawke, Carmen Ejogo and Callum Keith Rennie. The film premiered at the Toronto Film Festival in the ?Special Presentations? section. Baker was a jazz icon in the 1950s who became equally famous for his drug addiction. The film mixes historical fact and fiction as it re-imagines Baker?s attempt at a comeback.
