Though Jay Leno didn't make everyone laugh during his tenure in late-night, he tried to keep things fun and funny.
Which is why he believes a feud with Jimmy Kimmel lasts even today.
Leno explained during an appearance on Today, "[he] comes from radio...where you find an enemy and then you make up a phony battle."
He added, "the most element you can have in doing a late night show is kindness. Because the show makes you arrogant."
The comedian who now hosts his own car show, Jay Leno's Garage, stated that despite being talented Kimmel's mean streak comes across.
Leno said, "I think that's why he's not higher in the ratings."
