The Austin Film Festival and Screenwriters Conference has tapped John Singleton and Chris Cooper for its Extraordinary Contribution to Film and Acting Awards. Singleton?s credits include writing and directing ?Boyz n the Hood,? ?Poetic Justice,? ?Higher Learning,? ?Shaft? and ?Baby Boy? and directing ?2 Fast 2 Furious,? ?Four Brothers? and ?Abduction.? He was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Director and Best Original Screenplay for the 1991 film.
