Before Trump appeared on stage on the 'Late Show', Stephen Colbert dryly told his audience "Who knows? One day I might be able to tell my grandkids I interviewed the last President of the United States," alluding to the effects of a possible Trump presidency. But as soon as Trump appeared on stage, Colbert turned mighty respectful, and even more shockingly?genuinely contrite, as he apologized to Trump for the 'unforgivable' things he had said about him in the past.
