Angelina Jolie met with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh on Thursday. She's in Cambodia prepping for her latest film, an adaptation of the memoir First They Killed My Father: A Daughter of Cambodia Remembers, which she's directing alongside Cambodian director and producer Rithy Panh for Netflix. The country holds a special place in Angelina's life, as her son Maddox was born there. The 14-year-old will be "involved behind the scenes," according to Angelina, who also shared with the Associated Press that she and Maddox "will be side by side learning about his country." She said, "This is a very important time for him to understand who he is."
