Stephen King is known as one of the most prolific American authors, with countless novels and short stories to his name. Add to that his instant name recognition by the general public, and it stands to reason that his works have been mined time and again for television and film adaptations. Most recently, his 2009 novel Under the Dome was brought to series on CBS, where it ran for three seasons. Dimension Television ? which has seen success with its TV version of the Scream franchise ? has announced plans to develop King?s 1980 novella The Mist into a new series.
