The Weinstein Company has delayed Elle Fanning?s transgender drama ?About Ray,? three days before its scheduled September 18 release in the U.S. TWC has not set a new release date for the film, formerly titled ?Three Generations,? but it?s expected to take place before the end of the year. ?About Ray? premiered on Sept. 12 at the Toronto Film Festival, evoking a standing ovation and positive reviews with Variety?s Andrew Barker calling it ?a crowdpleaser.? The film was picked up the Cannes Film Festival after buyers were shown a promo reel of the project, directed by Gaby Dellal, for a reported $6 million with a minimum 500-screen commitment.
