Paramount has acquired U.S. rights to Meryl Streep?s biopic ?Florence Foster Jenkins.? In the Stephen Frears directed film Streep portrays the heiress Florence Foster Jenkins, who became an opera singer best known for her bad singing skills, something Streep probably could sympathize with. Hugh Grant, Simon Helberg, Nina Arianda and Rebecca Ferguson also star.
Paramount did not indicate when it would release the film, which began production in May.The film company Pathe, is selling foreign rights at the Toronto Film Festival and showed a promo reel to buyers. It distribute the biopic in the U.K. and France.
