Selena Gomez 's body of work speaks for itself. The former Disney Channel star posed shirtless for her new album REVIVAL , available Oct. 9 and was surprised by the backlash she received for doing so. Gomes said, "At the end of the day, this is not going to be a subject once the album comes out. The music is going to take over because that's how confident I am about it. You have to understand that I dealt with a lot of body shaming this year and I've never experienced that before. Gomez added, I don't care about that stuff, but I did start gaining weight, and I didn't really mind it...Man, that hurt. That was really hurtful. Because I've experienced people who have tried to control that kind of stuff before, and I didn't care. This is my time. I want to do it the way I want to do it."
