Penelope Cruz?s drama ?Ma Ma? has been acquired by Oscilloscope Laboratories ahead of its Sept. 15 world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival. Julio Medem (?Sex and Lucia?) directed the pic, which stars Cruz as a woman with an unending capacity for love who?s faced with a grim medical diagnosis and connects with a man (Luis Tosar) dealing with unspeakable loss. Cruz also produced the film with Medem and Alvaro Longoria for Morena Films. Seville International is handling international sales and eOne is releasing the film in Spain and Canada.
