During his premiere as the host of the Late Show, Stephen Colbert introduced himself to TV land.
The caricature from his Daily Show and Colbert Report days is gone, and this chameleon of comedy is now showing his true colors.
He exclaimed to the audience during the Tuesday tapping, "with this show, I begin the search for the real Stephen Colbert."
Colbert jokingly added, "I just hope I don't find him on Ashley Madison."
But he certainly laid his conservative pundit to rest.
While interviewing his guest, Republican presidential hopeful Jeb Bush, Colbert broke with his Comedy Central past in a single sentence.
He said, "I used to play a narcissistic conservative pundit - now I'm just a narcissist.
