Variety's Geoff Berkshire says in his review of M. Night Shymalan's new film "The Visit," that the director "returns to thriller filmmaking in the style of low-budget empresario Jason Blum with mixed results."
He also says the film is "heavier on comic relief than genuine scare," and that "this low-budget oddity could score decent opening weekend B.O. and ultimately find a cult following thanks to its freakier twists and turns, but hardly represents a return to form for its one-time Oscar-nominated auteur"
