A24 has acquired distribution rights to the Brian De Palma documentary ?De Palma,? which will make its world premiere Wednesday at the Venice Film Festival.
De Palma will be in Venice to receive the festival?s Jaeger-LeCoultre Glory to the Filmmaker Award. The movie will also play at the New York Film Festival at the end of the month.
?De Palma? was directed and produced by Noah Baumbach and Jake Paltrow. Scott Rudin and Eli Bush served as executive producers. A24 plans a 2016 release.
The doc covers De Palma?s singular approach to the craft of filmmaking and his experiences navigating the film business.
