Justin Bieber released "What Do You Mean?" to great fanfare Friday. The 21-year-old singer, who will perform the song for the first time live at the MTV Video Music Awards Sunday, made the song available via Apple Music and Spotify. The lyric video, directed by Laban, shows Bieber skateboarding along with Ryan Sheckler and Chelsea Castro. The track is the first single from Bieber's upcoming album, his first since 2013's compilation album Journals and 2012's Believe.
