MTV has announced that Nicki Minaj will open the MTV Video Music Awards this Sunday. Minaj provided a prelude to the announcement via Instagram post. She shared a photo of a sonogram featuring a Moonman statue in place of a gestating baby. The singer?s post both teased the news of her performance and nodded to the rumors that she and boyfriend Meek Mill were expecting a baby.
Minaj?s association with this year?s edition of the awards show already made headlines earlier this summer, when the rapper tweeted her frustration that her music video ?Anaconda? had not been nominated for Video of the Year, the top category at the show.
