Interstellar costars Jessica Chastain and Matt Damon are headed back to outer space in the upcoming film The Martian. Damon headlines the Ridley Scott movie as Mark Watney, an unabashedly nerdy astronaut whose scientific know-how comes in handy when he is stranded on the Red Planet, after he is presumed dead by his fellow Ares 3 mission crew members. Chastain costars in the film as Melissa Lewis, the Ares 3 mission?s disciplined commander, who leads the charge to rescue Mark upon learning that he is still alive? for the time being, anyway. The second U.S. trailer for The Martian provides additional plot details for the film, regarding what Mark does in order to stay alive on Mars while the Ares 3 crew (and NASA personnel back on Earth) scramble to figure out how they can save him ? or, rather, if they can save him.
