Will Smith will reportedly executive produce a Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reboot. The 46-year-old actor and his Overbrook Entertainment production company are being linked to the new series by TV Line. Sources told the website a pitch is being finalized and will be shopped in the coming weeks, but original network NBC is not yet attached. Deadline reports, however, the program will be a "fish out of water show in the spirit of Fresh Prince" and not an actual reboot. Insiders told the website the series will be a "new show with new characters and a new setting." Smith starred as a fictionalized version of himself, the titular "Fresh Prince," on the sitcom for a six-season run from 1990 to 1996.
